This weekend, OuterB reader Mikel dropped us a gem of a comment regarding the “Unusual Rental in Astoria” I posted about a while back:

I grew up playing in that house.  It was once a one family, then turned to 4 units.  Who knows how many units are there Now.  The cool thing is that there were (maybe still there) secret passages in that house.  One of my childhood friends who lived there was stuck in between the wall(s) for about an hour, until his family realized how to trigger the wall panel to open………..

I was fascinated to hear of the secret passages in the house.  It was always a fantasy of mine to live in a house with secret passages, or secret rooms behind a bookshelf.   So, readers, help us out - have any of you lived in or know of houses with secret passages, hidden cubbyholes, or underground tunnels?  Where in Queens are these homes?  We’d love to hear your stories!  Feel free to post about them in the comments.
