Little Neck - Open Houses of the Weekend
Little Neck is about as suburban as you can get in Queens. It’s the last neighborhood before you hit Nassau County in the northeast of the borough. There’s no subway, but the LIRR runs to Midtown pretty fast.
Comparing these open houses, it seems co-ops might be a bargain out in the burbs.
One-Family Split-level Ranch House in Little Neck, $995,000,
249-33 Cambria Ave, Little Neck, NY, Open House: 11/19 and 11/20/05, 2-4 pm. 3-bedroom house with 2 and half baths. The ad calls it a "splanch" and you know that means there’s a built-in bar in the basement and maybe a bumper pool table. Craigslist post.
Three-bedroom Co-op in Little Neck, $349,000,
61st Ave and Marathon Pkwy , Little Neck, NY, Open House: 11/19/05, 1-4 pm. Maintenance includes all manner of utilities plus parking and co-op security. Looks like a two-level co-op, but this unit probably only on one floor. Perfect location for a golfer next to one of the best NYC public golf courses. Craigslist post.
