Looks like a great weekend in Queens for open houses.  There are lots of new listings in Craigslist and the NY Times.  Here are my three picks.

Jr4/2 bedroom Co-op in Forest Hills, "The Lafayette" 69-40 Yellowstone Blvd, Forest Hills, NY, $369,000, Open House: 6/12/2005 12 - 5 pm.   I like the interior photos of this prewar co-op, especially the rounded archways.  The maintenance is reasonable at $650 a month.  The building has a doorman and a garage, though it’s not clear if there’s a space available.  See NY Times listing #25.  The broker looks like "Kingdom."

3-Family in Woodside, 58-41 44th Avenue, Woodside, NY, $929000, Open House: June 12, 2005,  1-4 pm.  Four bedrooms over two bedrooms over one bedroom in a semi-attached brick building– call it a two-family plus.  It’s in the heart of Woodside, right by Roosevelt Ave and Queens Blvd.  Sounds like a great rental property.  Note - it’s on 44th Avenue, not Street.  See Craigslist for more.

5-Bedroom Cape House in Queens Village, 234-05 88th Avenue, Queens Village, NY, $690,000, Open House: June 11, 2005,  12 - 2 pm; June 12, 2005, 2 - 4 pm.  A legal 2-family meaning it can be converted, or more likely, knocked down and rebuilt as big as possible on this large strip of land -     46×171 Lot.  Make sure to check drainage.  Often big backyards in central Queens means it’s the drainage area for the block.   The house is blocks away from Bellerose — though in general Queens V schools aren’t as good as those in Bellerose.  Sales: Jennifer Castellanos, ERA CAPUTO REALESTATE.  See Craigslist for more.
