Astoria Castle Gates

Well, the “Astoria Castle” finally got its gates. It does not improve things.

There’s more construction across the street. Who knows what it’s going to look like in the end!

Such a bad, bad idea, that castle… Of course, if Elmhurst invades Astoria in a fit of jealousy, it could come in handy, I suppose.

There are so many dull looking buildings that everyone complains about, or unusual buildings like the Pistilli Riverview. I think this castle is funny. It’s actually built of real brick and is well done. But clearly it’s comical. But not in a bad way. I would smile every single time I passed it.

What’s the address for this building? I’d like to see it in person. Thanks!

It’s on 37th Street between Astoria Blvd and 28th Ave. The address might be 25-80, but I’ve never found the correct address. You can’t miss it, though!

    Cool. Thanks for the location.

I hope they add a moat!

I personally think the castle is a pretty cool addition to the neighborhood. However, I’m not sure I’d want to live there. It looks as if the new one will be a different finish…maybe stucco. We will continue to see lots of similer developement in this area where the zoning is R6 which usually allows up to 8 units per each 25×100 lot. In 5-10 years astoria will look a lot different.
