LIC
Bar is a classic New York City
watering hole in the hottest neighborhood in Queens . You’ll find the bar’s 100-year-old history – an antique wood bar, original tin ceilings, brick walls – paired with a beautiful outdoor garden and a great friendly crowd – only one subway stop from Manhattan. Call it an oasis of authentic New York in the midst of gleaming new condo towers and a fantastic Manhattan view.
The vibe at LIC Bar is casual and cool–no trademarked cocktails here, but plenty of choice if you favor draft beer, single-malt scotch, or a well-mixed drink. Your whole crew can rendezvous after a day of work or an afternoon at PS 1, and find seats at the long bar and big tables. Or head outdoors to the garden to sit in the shade under our willow trees on a sunny afternoon, or warm up under the heat lamps on a chilly night.

Although “terrific coal-oven pizza” is the main attraction, this “neighborhood Italian” near the Long Island City waterfront also has a way with “homemade pastas” and other “solid” standards; the “casual setting” works for a “relaxed” bite.

Beneath red-brick walls adorned with gorgeous, colorful landscape paintings, fiery tapas and offbeat cocktails will stir your senses at sexy LIC hotspot Blend Latin Fusion Restaurant — and without breaking your bank. At lunch, specials like Cuban-style roasted pork and Ropa vieja (pulled short rib with peppers and tomato) are an enticing $7.95 and include rice, beans and sweet plantains. Appetizing dinner tapas include Masitas (pan-seared pork tenderloins with caramelized onions and cilantro mojo); a Spanish Omelet at brunch brings you eggs stuffed with chorizo, peppers, onions, mushroom and tomatoes. Mimosas are out, as the new-ish establishment has yet to obtain its liquor license — but your coffee cup will stay full.

Description
This café and lounge, located on a trendy Long Island City street, doesn’t shake up the neighborhood, but it does deliver reliable Italian food. Francine DiTomaso (Luca Lounge) and husband James Powers have created boho ambiance with antique-style metal fans and a soundtrack of sultry French pop. The menu is filled with solidly executed, generously portioned dishes. Bruschetta topped with a classic trio of tomato, garlic and basil, and the lovely grilled salmon, served with a fan of fresh asparagus and a tangy balsamic reduction, do casual Italian justice.

Well not exactly, the developers of the view are only releasing 30 units for rent. That’s right! Now, you too, can live in a superlux condo without shelling out all the bucks for it…We have been prepping for the relaunch of our blog, but when we got this juicy little story, we couldn’t help but go live with it… Prices range from $2,440 for a 1 bedroom to a three bedrooms for $7,500 per month… And these are No Fee units
. The units at The View are still for sale and still offering 110% money back guarantee. Could this be LIC’s first condo gone rental? Well sort of - the other ones seem to be doing fine. Although there is some chatter of one condo building
that might go rental. We at OuterB will be back with more on that plus other cool stuff that will be happening throughout Queens, Brooklyn and we might even occasionally have some scoop on Money Makin Manhattan as well… stay tuned.
